Tender, juicy pork chops coated in a rich, caramelized apple butter glaze that’s perfectly sweet, savory, and tangy—ideal for cozy fall dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1 inch thick)
  • 1/3 cup apple butter
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Fresh thyme (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt and pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes while you prepare the glaze.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together apple butter, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Set aside.
  4. Heat olive oil and butter in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter has melted and the pan is hot, add the pork chops.
  5. Sear the pork chops for 3-4 minutes on each side until they’re golden brown. Don’t move them around too much—let them develop a nice crust.
  6. Reduce the heat to medium and pour the apple butter glaze over the pork chops. Use a spoon to coat each chop evenly. Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves on top if using.
  7. If your skillet is oven-safe, transfer it to the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). If you’re not using the oven, let the pork chops simmer on the stovetop for another 5-7 minutes with the glaze.
  8. Remove the skillet from heat and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
