Tender, juicy pork chops smothered in a rich, caramelized apple butter glaze with hints of cinnamon and spice—perfect for cozy fall evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides. Let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes while you prepare the glaze.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the apple butter, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the pork chops. Sear them for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. (Don’t overcrowd the pan—work in batches if necessary.)
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Pour the apple butter glaze over the pork chops, spreading it evenly across the surface. Cover the skillet and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, flipping the chops halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  5. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Spoon any remaining glaze from the skillet over the chops before serving.

Notes

Searing the pork chops first locks in the juices and creates a beautiful crust. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the pork chops are perfectly cooked at 145°F. If the glaze thickens too much, add a splash of water or apple cider to loosen it up.
