Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 3/4 cup whole cranberry sauce (homemade or canned)
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh orange juice (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • Pinch of salt
  • Crispy crackers, pita chips, or sliced baguette (for serving)
  • Apple slices or celery sticks (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Remove cream cheese from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes, or microwave for 10-15 seconds to soften.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese with sour cream until smooth and fluffy using a hand mixer or whisk.
  3. Drizzle in honey or maple syrup and beat for another 30 seconds to fully incorporate. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  4. In a small bowl, stir together cranberry sauce, chopped dried cranberries, and orange juice (if using). Mix well.
  5. Spoon the cranberry mixture over the cream cheese base. Use a spatula or spoon to gently swirl together, creating a marbled effect without overmixing.
  6. Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts and chopped rosemary evenly over the top. Add a pinch of salt.
  7. If time allows, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to let flavors meld. Otherwise, serve immediately.
  8. Transfer to a festive bowl or platter. Garnish with extra cranberries, orange zest, or a sprig of rosemary if desired.
  9. If dip is runny, add more cream cheese or chill longer. If too thick, stir in a splash of milk or orange juice. Taste before serving.

Notes

For best texture, use room temperature cream cheese and avoid overmixing the cranberry swirl. Adjust sweetness and tartness to taste. Nuts and herbs are optional and can be omitted for allergies or personal preference. The dip can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours. Serve with gluten-free crackers for a gluten-free option, or use plant-based dairy for a vegan version.
