  • 24 Oreo Cookies (finely crushed for crust plus some chopped for topping)
  • 6 tablespoons (85 grams) unsalted butter, melted
  • 16 ounces (450 grams) cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup (90 grams) powdered sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush 20 Oreos finely using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and rolling with a pin until you have fine crumbs.
  2. Transfer crumbs to a bowl and mix with melted butter until evenly coated and resembling wet sand, about 5 minutes.
  3. Press the Oreo mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan or pie dish, creating an even 1/2 inch thick layer.
  4. Chill the crust in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to set.
  5. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes on medium speed.
  6. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until fully combined and silky.
  7. In a separate chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture in three additions using a spatula to keep the filling light and fluffy.
  9. Chop the remaining 4 Oreos into small chunks and fold them into the filling.
  10. Spoon the filling over the chilled crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
  11. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight, to allow the cheesecake to set fully.
  12. Before serving, garnish with extra Oreo pieces or whipped cream if desired.
  13. Run a warm knife around the edges of the pan to loosen the cheesecake for a clean release.

Notes

Softening cream cheese to room temperature is key to avoid lumps. Chill the crust well before adding the filling to prevent sogginess. Whip cream to soft peaks only to maintain lightness. Folding whipped cream gently into the cream cheese mixture keeps the filling fluffy. Overnight chilling improves texture and flavor.
