These festive crescent bites feature a creamy, tangy filling of cream cheese and cranberry sauce wrapped in golden, flaky crescent dough. Quick to make and irresistibly delicious, they’re perfect for holiday parties, potlucks, or cozy family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup prepared cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest (zest from about half an orange)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese with granulated sugar, orange zest, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  3. Unroll crescent roll dough onto a lightly floured surface. Separate into triangles or press seams together and cut into squares for bite-sized pieces.
  4. Place about 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture and 1 teaspoon cranberry sauce on each dough triangle or square. Fold dough over filling and pinch edges to seal.
  5. Arrange filled crescents on prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each.
  6. Beat egg with water in a small bowl. Brush tops of crescents with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Rotate pan halfway through for even browning.
  8. Let bites cool for 5-10 minutes before handling. Dust lightly with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh crescent dough and avoid overfilling to prevent leaks. Chill the cream cheese filling if it’s too runny. These bites can be made gluten-free or dairy-free with appropriate substitutions. Air fryer option: Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze unbaked bites for later.
