These crispy honey garlic Brussels sprouts are a perfect combination of sweet, savory, and crunchy. A quick and easy dish that will win over even the most skeptical veggie eaters.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim and halve the Brussels sprouts. Remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves and rinse them under cold water.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Once the oil is shimmering, add the Brussels sprouts cut side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the cut sides are golden and crispy.
  4. Flip the sprouts and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still have a slight bite.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  6. Reduce the heat to low and pour the honey garlic sauce over the sprouts. Toss to coat evenly.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and clings to the sprouts.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve warm.

Notes

[‘Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure even caramelization.’, ‘Cut all sprouts to a similar size for even cooking.’, ‘Lower the heat when adding the honey garlic sauce to avoid burning.’, ‘Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.’, ‘Add toasted nuts or crispy bacon bits for extra flavor.’]
