  • ½ cup (60 g) shredded provolone cheese (optional)

  • ½ cup (120 ml) marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12×10-inch (30×25 cm) rectangle about ¼-inch (6 mm) thick.
  3. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch (2.5 cm) border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone cheese evenly on top, then scatter pepperoni slices.
  5. Starting at the long edge closest to you, roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seam to seal and trim the ends if needed.
  6. Cut the log into 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick pieces, yielding about 10-12 rolls.
  7. Place each roll cut side up on the baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart.
  8. Brush the tops and sides of the rolls with olive oil using a pastry brush.
  9. Sprinkle garlic powder, dried Italian herbs, and a pinch of salt over the rolls.
  10. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and bubbly, checking after 12 minutes to avoid over-browning.
  11. Let the rolls rest on a cooling rack for 5 minutes before serving.
