This creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip combines shredded chicken, cream cheese, ranch dressing, cheddar, and buffalo sauce for a crowd-pleasing snack made effortlessly in a crock pot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (or blue cheese dressing as an alternative)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Shred your cooked chicken using two forks or dice it into small pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until smooth and well-blended.
  3. Fold the shredded chicken into the creamy mixture, making sure it’s evenly coated.
  4. Pour the mixture into your crock pot and spread it out evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or on high for about 1 hour, until the dip is warm and bubbly.
  7. Before serving, sprinkle chopped green onions on top for a burst of freshness.
  8. Keep the crock pot on the ‘warm’ setting and serve with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crackers.

Notes

[‘If the dip seems too thick, stir in a tablespoon or two of milk or cream to loosen it up.’, ‘Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting.’, ‘Adjust the spice level by adding more buffalo sauce or cayenne pepper.’, ‘Microwave the dip ingredients for 5-7 minutes as a quick alternative before transferring to the crock pot.’]
