This Easy Pepper Jelly Cream Cheese Dip is a quick, crowd-pleasing appetizer featuring creamy cheese topped with sweet and spicy pepper jelly. Perfect for parties, potlucks, or last-minute guests, it comes together in under 10 minutes and is endlessly adaptable.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup pepper jelly (red or green)
  • Crackers or pretzels for serving (e.g., Ritz, Wheat Thins, or gluten-free crackers)
  • Optional: Fresh herbs (chives, parsley, or cilantro), finely chopped, for garnish
  • Optional: Finely diced red bell pepper
  • Optional: Toasted pecans or walnuts
  • Optional: Sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Remove the block of cream cheese from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes to soften.
  2. Place the softened cream cheese block in the center of a medium serving plate or shallow bowl.
  3. Use a small offset spatula or butter knife to gently spread the cream cheese into an even layer about 1/2 inch thick, forming a rectangle or oval.
  4. Spoon 1 cup of pepper jelly over the cream cheese, spreading evenly to cover the surface. Let some jelly drip over the sides for visual appeal. If the jelly is thick, microwave it for 10 seconds to loosen.
  5. Sprinkle on optional garnishes: chopped herbs, diced red bell pepper, toasted nuts, or green onions.
  6. Arrange crackers, pretzels, or veggie sticks around the dip for serving.
  7. Serve immediately, or cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 4 hours. If chilled, let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use block-style cream cheese and let it soften fully before spreading. Warm the pepper jelly slightly if it’s too thick. Assemble just before serving to prevent the jelly from soaking in. Garnish with fresh herbs or nuts for extra flavor and color. The dip is naturally gluten-free if served with gluten-free crackers or veggie sticks. Dairy-free cream cheese can be used for a vegan version.
