A quick and easy grilled chicken recipe featuring a sweet and smoky peach glaze that balances fresh fruitiness with hearty BBQ flavors. Perfect for summer gatherings and casual dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 pounds / 700g)
  • 2 ripe peaches, peeled and diced (or nectarines as an alternative)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • ½ cup (120ml) BBQ sauce (recommended: Sweet Baby Ray’s)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken, rubbing it in for even coverage. Let it rest for about 10 minutes while you prepare the glaze.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the diced peaches, honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, apple cider vinegar, and chopped thyme (if using). Mix well until the ingredients form a sticky, slightly chunky glaze.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F / 205°C). Oil the grates lightly to prevent sticking.
  4. Place chicken breasts on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, brushing the peach glaze generously on the top side during the last 3 minutes of each side’s cooking. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. During the final 2 minutes, apply a thicker layer of glaze and close the grill lid to let it caramelize without burning. The glaze should turn sticky and slightly charred but not bitter.
  6. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes to lock in the juices and let the glaze set.
  7. Serve chicken breasts topped with any remaining peach glaze from the bowl or extra fresh peach slices for a bright, fresh bite.

Notes

If peaches aren’t ripe, briefly soften them in a hot pan before making the glaze to release natural sweetness. Avoid over-marinating chicken to prevent dryness. Brush glaze in layers during the last minutes on the grill to avoid burning the sugars. Frozen peaches can be used but won’t caramelize as well. The glaze can be made up to 24 hours ahead and stored in the fridge.
