A refreshing and bold mango margarita with a spicy Tajín rim that balances sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors perfectly for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup peeled and diced ripe fresh mango (frozen can be used)
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon agave syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes (about 1 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon Tajín seasoning
  • Pinch of salt
  • Lime wedges for garnish and rimming

Instructions

  1. Pour about 1 tablespoon of Tajín and a pinch of salt onto a small plate and mix well.
  2. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your cocktail glass to moisten it.
  3. Dip the rim into the Tajín mixture, twisting to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
  4. Peel and dice a ripe mango until you have about 1 cup. Thaw frozen mango if using.
  5. In a blender, add diced mango, 2 ounces tequila blanco, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, 1 ounce triple sec, 1 teaspoon agave syrup if using, and about 1 cup of ice cubes.
  6. Blend on high until smooth and slushy, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  7. Taste and adjust spice or sweetness by adding extra Tajín, jalapeño slices, or agave syrup as desired.
  8. Pour the blended margarita into the prepared glass.
  9. Garnish with a lime wedge or thin mango slice on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe mangoes for best flavor; frozen mango works as a substitute. Adjust ice amount for desired thickness. For more spice, add jalapeño slices or extra Tajín. Prepare glass rims just before serving for best adherence. Can substitute mezcal for tequila for smoky flavor. For a non-alcoholic version, omit tequila and triple sec and use sparkling water with orange juice.
