A quick and easy overnight oats recipe featuring rolled oats soaked in milk with mixed berries for a fresh, creamy, and wholesome breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (old-fashioned, not instant)
  • 1 cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, or soy)
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen; blueberries, raspberries, diced strawberries)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add 1/2 cup rolled oats to a mason jar or container.
  2. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon chia seeds and a pinch of ground cinnamon if using.
  3. Pour in 1 cup of your chosen milk to cover the oats.
  4. Stir in 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt if using.
  5. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract; stir to combine.
  6. Top with 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen).
  7. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  8. In the morning, stir the oats; add a splash of milk if too thick before serving.

Notes

Use rolled oats for best texture; frozen berries can be added directly without thawing. Adjust sweetness to taste. Layer berries on top to preserve texture. Can be stored up to 3 days in the fridge. For creamier oats, add nut butter or coconut cream before refrigerating.
