A quick and flavorful high protein dish featuring juicy chicken breasts and egg noodles coated in a sticky garlic sauce. Perfect for busy evenings and cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 8 oz egg noodles or lo mein noodles
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds, toasted (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced chicken breasts with 2 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 teaspoon cornstarch. Toss well to coat evenly. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 ounces of egg noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually 6-8 minutes for fresh noodles or 8-10 for dried. Drain and toss with a teaspoon of oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together 4 minced garlic cloves, 3 tablespoons honey, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and red pepper flakes if using. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as you prefer.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet or wok. Add the marinated chicken in a single layer. Let it cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes to get a nice sear, then stir and cook another 2-3 minutes until just cooked through and golden.
  5. Reduce heat to medium. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the chicken. Pour over the sticky garlic sauce and toss everything together gently but thoroughly, so the noodles and chicken are coated and glossy.
  6. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce thickens and clings to the noodles. Remove from heat, sprinkle chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds on top.
  7. Serve immediately while hot and fresh.

Notes

If the sauce gets too thick, splash a little water or chicken broth to loosen it up. Avoid burning the garlic by cooking on medium heat and adding it after the chicken has seared. Cook chicken in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding the pan. Toss noodles with a teaspoon of oil after draining to prevent clumping.
