Brie and Cranberry Bites - featured image

These Brie and Cranberry Bites are the ultimate festive appetizer, combining gooey melted Brie, sweet-tart cranberry sauce, and flaky puff pastry for a delicious holiday treat.

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry sheets (store-bought, thawed)
  • Brie cheese (creamy, easy to slice)
  • Cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought, whole-berry version preferred)
  • Chopped pecans (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary (optional)
  • Egg wash (1 egg whisked with 1 tablespoon of water)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into squares (about 2.5-inch/6.5 cm each) using a knife or pizza cutter.
  3. Gently press a square of puff pastry into each cavity of the mini muffin tin, ensuring it forms a small cup.
  4. Cut Brie into small cubes, roughly 1-inch in size. Place a piece of Brie in each puff pastry cup.
  5. Spoon a small amount (about 1 teaspoon) of cranberry sauce on top of the Brie.
  6. Sprinkle a few chopped pecans on each bite for a crunchy texture, and add a tiny sprig of fresh rosemary for a festive touch.
  7. Lightly brush the edges of the puff pastry with the egg wash for a golden finish.
  8. Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden and the Brie is melted.
  9. Allow the bites to cool slightly before removing them from the tin. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

[‘Don’t overfill the cups to avoid messy bites.’, ‘Use cold puff pastry for easier handling.’, ‘Experiment with different jams or chutneys for unique flavors.’, ‘Keep an eye on the oven to prevent overbaking.’]
