Sweet, savory, and perfectly balanced, these maple chicken sliders are a crowd-pleasing game day favorite that’s quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Slider buns (Brioche or Hawaiian rolls)
  • Greens (arugula or spinach)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (avocado or olive oil)

Instructions

  1. Trim any excess fat from the chicken thighs and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken thighs and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let them rest on a plate.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Stir in 1/3 cup of maple syrup, 2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard, and 2 minced garlic cloves. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened, stirring constantly.
  4. Return the chicken to the skillet and pour the maple glaze over it. Toss the chicken in the glaze until fully coated and glossy.
  5. Slice the slider buns in half and toast them lightly if desired. Place a handful of greens on the bottom bun, followed by a piece of glazed chicken. Top with the other half of the bun.
  6. Arrange the sliders on a platter and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

For a less sweet glaze, reduce the maple syrup slightly and add a splash of vinegar. Toasting the buns adds texture and prevents sogginess.
