A creamy, tangy whipped feta base combined with the earthy sweetness of pumpkin and warm autumn spices, perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz feta cheese (block, not pre-crumbled)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup pure pumpkin puree (unsweetened)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped fresh herbs (parsley or thyme), crushed walnuts or pecans, drizzle of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy blending. Gather all your ingredients and measure them out.
  2. In a food processor, combine the feta cheese and softened cream cheese. Blend for 2-3 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed, until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the pumpkin puree, olive oil, lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Blend again until fully combined. Stop and scrape down the sides to ensure everything is well mixed.
  4. Taste the dip and adjust the flavors. Add a pinch more salt, a drizzle of honey, or an extra squeeze of lemon juice if needed.
  5. Scoop the dip into a serving bowl. Use a spatula to create swoops on the surface. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with chopped herbs or nuts if desired.
  6. Serve with pita chips, crusty bread, or fresh veggies like carrot sticks, cucumber slices, or bell pepper strips.

Notes

[‘For the creamiest dip, use a food processor or high-speed blender. Add an extra tablespoon of olive oil or a splash of water if the mixture isn’t blending smoothly.’, ‘Make sure your cream cheese is softened before blending to avoid lumps.’, ‘Opt for a block of feta in brine for the best flavor.’, ‘Taste and adjust seasonings as you go. A touch of sweetness from the honey balances the pumpkin’s earthiness.’, ‘This dip tastes even better after a few hours in the fridge as the flavors meld together.’]
