Sweet, tender carrots coated in a buttery maple and brown sugar glaze—perfect for holidays, family dinners, or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh carrots, peeled and sliced into even-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the carrots into evenly sized sticks or rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add the carrots and sauté for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of brown sugar and drizzle 3 tablespoons of pure maple syrup over the carrots. Stir to coat evenly.
  4. Add 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Pour in 1/4 cup of water and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the carrots are tender but not mushy.
  6. Remove the lid and increase the heat to medium. Stir frequently as the glaze thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve warm.

Notes

Use pure maple syrup for the best flavor. Stir the glaze frequently to prevent sticking or burning. Adjust sweetness with a splash of lemon juice if needed.
