A quick and easy summer drink combining juicy watermelon and zesty lime for a perfectly balanced, refreshing beverage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups watermelon, cubed and seeds removed
  • 3 to 4 fresh limes, juiced
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar or honey
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish or muddling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the watermelon: Remove rind and seeds from about 6 cups of watermelon cubes. Use a juicer to extract juice or blend in batches and strain pulp if using a blender. (Approx. 5 minutes)
  2. Juice the limes: Roll limes to loosen juice, cut in half, and juice to get about ½ cup fresh lime juice. Avoid over-squeezing. (Approx. 3 minutes)
  3. Combine ingredients: In a large pitcher, mix watermelon juice and lime juice. Add 2 cups cold water and 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar or honey. Stir until sweetener dissolves. Adjust sweetness or water to taste. (Approx. 2 minutes)
  4. Chill and serve: Add ice cubes to the pitcher or individual glasses. Garnish with mint leaves if desired. Let sit in fridge for 15 minutes if time allows.
  5. Enjoy: Pour into glasses with optional lime wedge or straw. For a fizzy version, add sparkling water just before serving.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon for best sweetness. Adjust sugar or honey to taste. Rolling limes before juicing helps extract more juice. Strain juice for a smoother texture if preferred. Serve ice-cold. For a sparkling twist, add sparkling water before serving. Store in fridge up to 2 days and stir before serving.
